Position Overview

We are currently in search of certified or registered Alcohol and Drug Counselors to join our dedicated Behavioral Health team. At Bay Area Community Resources, a non-profit organization, we are revitalizing one of our Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs. We welcome applications from registered counselors with relevant experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Wage: $26-$30 (full-time), based on registration/certification and experience.
  • 16 paid holidays provided by BACR.
  • Up to 3 weeks of vacation along with additional sick leave.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must possess certification or registration as an Alcohol or Drug Counselor or be a licensed counselor from a State of California Accredited Institution, such as CCAPP or CADPT.
  • Ability to work onsite at a designated facility.
  • Prior experience with justice-involved populations is required.
  • Strong work ethic with a full understanding of and adherence to professional, ethical, and legal standards.
  • Must successfully pass Livescan fingerprinting and background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Proficient in computer skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate educational and treatment groups both onsite and within the community.
  • Conduct intake assessments for new clients and manage discharges.
  • Provide individual care management.
  • Lead engagement and retention groups.
  • Address client concerns related to substance use and criminal behavior.
