Job Overview

Carlisle Cares dba Community CARES is in search of a part-time Financial Record Specialist to oversee our financial operations. With nearly two decades of service in assisting individuals transition from homelessness to stable housing, this role is pivotal in managing the organization's fiscal responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be tasked with:

  • Compiling and analyzing financial data to prepare accurate accounting records.
  • Evaluating financial trends to anticipate future organizational needs.
  • Maintaining precise and current financial records utilizing accounting software, specifically QuickBooks.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations to verify that all transactions are accurately documented.
  • Processing invoices, receipts, and payments efficiently.
  • Overseeing accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Performing regular audits of financial transactions to ensure precision.
  • Reconciling financial records to support the accuracy of financial statements and reports.
Financial Reporting

Responsibilities will also include:

  • Posting financial transactions to accounts and preparing comprehensive financial statements.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
  • Keeping all financial documentation updated on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Providing assistance during the annual audit process.
  • Timely billing of grants while maintaining accurate expense records.
  • Tracking all restricted funding sources.
  • Leading the annual budgeting process.
  • Assisting in the annual audit procedures.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related discipline.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong familiarity with QuickBooks and experience with other accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
