Job Overview

Carlisle Cares dba Community CARES is looking for a part-time Bookkeeper to oversee our financial operations. With nearly two decades of service, we are dedicated to assisting individuals in transitioning from homelessness to stable housing. This role will be crucial in managing the organization's financial health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile and analyze financial data to prepare accurate accounting records.
  • Evaluate financial trends to anticipate future organizational needs.
  • Utilize accounting software, specifically QuickBooks, to maintain precise financial records.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of all transactions.
  • Process invoices, receipts, and payments efficiently.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Perform regular audits of financial transactions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Reconcile financial records to support the integrity of financial statements and reports.
Financial Reporting
  • Post financial transactions to accounts and prepare comprehensive financial statements.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to accounting principles and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date financial records on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Assist during the annual audit process to ensure transparency and accuracy.
  • Manage billing for grants in a timely manner and maintain accurate expense records.
  • Track restricted funding effectively.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process to align with organizational goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experienced with QuickBooks.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in approach.
