Key Responsibilities

The Bookkeeper will be responsible for:

  • Compiling and analyzing financial data to prepare accurate accounting records.
  • Evaluating financial trends to assess future organizational needs.
  • Utilizing accounting software, specifically QuickBooks, to maintain up-to-date financial records.
  • Conducting bank reconciliations to verify that all transactions are accurately documented.
  • Processing invoices, receipts, and payments efficiently.
  • Managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Performing regular audits of financial transactions to ensure correctness.
  • Reconciling financial records to uphold the integrity of financial statements and reports.
Additional Duties

Other important tasks include:

  • Posting financial transactions to accounts and preparing comprehensive financial statements.
  • Collaborating with team members to ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
  • Keeping all financial documentation current on a daily and monthly basis.
  • Providing assistance during the annual audit process.
  • Billing grants promptly and maintaining accurate expense records.
  • Tracking restricted funding sources.
  • Leading the annual budgeting process.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related discipline.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced skills in Excel.
  • Strong familiarity with QuickBooks and other accounting software.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A self-motivated approach to work.
