The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Account Executive to join our New Construction Mechanical division. This role will focus on building long-lasting relationships with clients, establishing the McKinstry brand in the fast-growing construction market, and driving business growth through strategic market strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead generation, customer service, proposal development, and customer acquisition
  • Produce accurate estimates, assemble quality proposals, and demonstrate excellent written communication skills
  • Build and own market strategies, including SWOT analysis, competitive analysis, and vertical market and horizontal offering strategies
  • Analyze project potential, considering changing market conditions
  • Stay up-to-date in the marketplace
  • Partner with internal resources to ensure deliverables meet timelines and requirements
  • Assist the Senior Account Executive with larger projects
  • Coordinate with Business Unit Manager to ensure successful project execution
Client Relations
  • Support clients with project financing and contracting issues
  • Act as the client's single point of accountability
  • Initiate and develop personal relationships with potential and existing clients
  • Utilize McKinstry's tools and processes to support customer relationship strategies
Requirements
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all responsibilities of a Sales Engineer
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or equivalent business experience
  • Five years of experience with a mechanical or electrical construction contractor, engineering firm, or vendor
  • Two years of experience leading and closing sales
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, contracts, proposals, and estimates
  • Knowledge of building infrastructure mechanical and electrical systems
  • Knowledge of conceptual estimating preferred
