Position Overview

The Radiology Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services. This position is responsible for executing a variety of radiological examinations efficiently and in accordance with the directives outlined by the attending physician. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the Radiology Technologist collaborates with colleagues to ensure the safe and precise administration of patient care. Additionally, the technologist is expected to be adaptable and willing to receive training in other imaging modalities as required.

Work Schedule:

The role requires flexibility to accommodate various shifts and weekend duties based on the operational needs of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts radiological examinations promptly; accurately documents necessary information and communicates relevant details to the primary physician and care team.
  • Collaborates with fellow radiology technologists, physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate and enhance patient care.
  • Assesses patient conditions to ensure the appropriate execution of radiology procedures.
  • Educates patients about the procedures being performed and outlines expectations for their cooperation.
  • Delivers comprehensive direct patient care while maintaining a safe and reassuring environment.
  • Engages with other healthcare staff as needed to address the requirements of patients and their families.
  • Ensures the availability and safe use of essential clinical equipment and supplies.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of patient growth and development across all age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Executes Point of Care procedures in a timely manner, adhering to established policies and quality control standards.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of an accredited radiology technology program is mandatory.
  • Licensure/Certification: A valid Radiologic Technologist license from the Arkansas Department of Health and current certification from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) are required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of orientation completion.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in the role of a Radiology Technologist is preferred.
