Business Development Professional

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is a leading architecture and engineering firm in the Southeast, seeking a Business Development Professional to support our Disaster Recovery Team.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the firm's values and standards for project solicitation and client management, as well as the leadership skills required to drive team contributions to the firm's success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing partnership strategies, including creating a partnership playbook and negotiating partnership agreements.
  • Identifying and expanding partnership opportunities, and serving as the primary contact for partner business development teams.
  • Working with subject matter experts to transform knowledge of GMC's business objectives and internal and competitive opportunities into actionable marketing communications strategies and tactics.
  • Developing strategic business plans and researching prospect organizations to understand industry segments, key business drivers, and situational factors.
  • Fostering relationships with senior contacts across State and Local agencies, as well as with C-Suite level partnerships.
  • Maintaining thorough knowledge of client businesses, audiences, and industries to contribute ideas and solutions.
  • Supervising assigned teams, including hiring staff and establishing a performance-driven culture.
  • Building and maintaining accurate forecasts of upcoming opportunities, and creating a 2-year pipeline.
  • Maintaining and augmenting pipeline management systems, and assisting in the management of proposal volume.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, and ten or more years of experience in business development, sales, or similar roles.

Key skills include initiative development, negotiation, closing deals, communication, relationship management, and product knowledge, as well as excellent interpersonal and written skills.
