Role Overview

As a Site Reliability Engineer at Cabify, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our platform's performance and reliability, impacting the entire organization.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing our infrastructure platform by creating self-service components for our engineering teams and millions of users globally.
  • Collaborating with Product and Infrastructure teams to design and implement top-tier infrastructure components.
  • Creating tools to enhance the availability, scalability, observability, and latency of our services, utilized by internal teams for deployment and operations.
  • Promoting reliability awareness across teams, assisting in the adoption of reliability principles, and reviewing observability implementations and software architectures.
  • Defining SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs throughout the service lifecycle.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation for the platform services you manage.
  • Resolving issues within our highly available platform alongside other teams and developing automations to prevent future incidents.
  • Contributing to our recruitment efforts to expand our engineering team.

  • Possess a solid understanding of Unix, networking stacks, the OSI model, containers, and monitoring/logging practices.
  • Have strong programming skills in at least one language and are open to learning others.

Potential Projects

In this role, you could work on:

  • Enhancing our Kubernetes setup (AWS EKS).
  • Improving our networking layer to implement network policies and service mesh.
  • Advancing our time-series monitoring platform (Cortex) to provide exceptional service to our engineering teams.
  • Promoting the adoption of distributed tracing (OTLP + Tempo) for improved latency observability across microservices.
  • Scaling our logging platform (Loki) to meet growing business demands.
  • Maintaining our company-wide code repository and continuous integration solution (GitLab).
