Compensation and Benefits: The position offers a competitive pay rate of $39.04 per hour, along with full-time employment benefits.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining all mechanical systems within a chemical manufacturing facility that operates continuously. The role may require participation in a rotating on-call schedule and availability for night or weekend shifts.

Key Duties:
  • Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain mechanical equipment in the chemical plant, including pumps (centrifugal, positive displacement, air diaphragm, etc.), agitators, fans, blowers, and associated sealing devices. Responsibilities also include the installation and modification of piping systems, valves, vessels, filters, and exchangers, along with structural tasks such as painting and light sheet metal work.
  • Learn and apply proper methods for conducting equipment and safety inspections. Document all repairs in the CMMS system and execute preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarize yourself with relevant maintenance SOPs and understand the plant processes and associated hazards. Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including fall protection and lockout/tagout protocols.
  • Engage in safety committees, report near-misses, investigate incidents, and participate in safety inspections. Ensure proper documentation of work orders in the SAP system.
Required Knowledge and Skills:

Specialized knowledge and skills are essential for this role.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must pass a routine physical examination and drug screening.
  • Ability to lift and manage loads of at least 50 pounds from floor level to a standing position.
  • Regularly walk, climb stairs, and navigate ladders and scaffolds in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Equipment Proficiency:
  • Experience operating power tools such as drill presses, band saws, and grinders.
  • Ability to use torches, welders, and cutters.
  • Capable of operating plant vehicles, including forklifts and boom lifts.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and measurement/testing equipment.
Personal Attributes:
  • Self-motivated and safety-conscious individual.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a willingness to learn from and mentor others.
Educational Background:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional coursework, technical training, or apprenticeship experience is preferred.
