An electric utility organization is seeking a Laboratory Technician responsible for conducting laboratory upkeep, as well as testing and analyzing samples for various upcoming projects.
Location: Irwindale, CA 91702 – ONSITE
Position: Laboratory Technician
Compensation: $19+/hr. on W2, based on experience
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: M-F, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Lab Technician is tasked with laboratory maintenance, testing, and analysis for various upcoming projects.
- This role involves working with diverse customer-side equipment, including advanced air conditioning systems and heat pump water heaters, utilizing laboratory tools and equipment.
- Tools may include both manual and power tools, as well as complex machinery.
ESSENTIAL SOFT SKILLS:
- Ability to effectively communicate issues and results to team members; willing to assist colleagues when needed and confident in addressing safety concerns.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred: Associate's Degree
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience operating laboratory testing equipment, including instrumentation and sensors.
- Capable of calibrating and tracking inventory for various lab tools and equipment.
- Skilled in setting up and maintaining laboratory testing apparatus.
- Must prioritize safety, document work meticulously, and maintain a clean work environment.
- Ability to clearly communicate testing results or issues with the Senior Lab Technician and Project Lead Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory testing equipment and maintenance.
- Experience in mechanical, chemical, biological, or food processing laboratories is advantageous.
- Familiarity with instrumentation sensors and data acquisition systems is preferred.
- Experience with plumbing, mechanical refrigeration, air conditioning, or thermal systems is also beneficial.
- Laboratory experience must be validated.
