Laboratory Analysis Technician

An electric utility organization is seeking a Laboratory Technician to oversee laboratory upkeep and conduct testing and analysis for various upcoming projects.
Position: Laboratory Technician
Compensation: $19+/hr. on W2, based on experience
Contract Length: 12 months or more
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Lab Technician is responsible for laboratory maintenance, as well as testing and analysis for several upcoming projects.
- The technician will work with various types of customer-side equipment, including advanced air conditioning systems and heat pump water heaters, utilizing laboratory tools and equipment.
- Laboratory tools may include both manual and power tools, as well as machine tools.
- Lab equipment may consist of large or complex machinery.
ESSENTIAL SOFT SKILLS:
- Ability to effectively communicate issues and results to team members; provides support to colleagues when needed. Must be confident in halting work and seeking assistance when safety concerns arise.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred: Associate's Degree
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Experience operating laboratory testing equipment, including instrumentation and sensors.
- Ability to calibrate and track inventory of various lab tools and equipment.
- Experience in setting up and maintaining various lab tools and testing equipment.
- Commitment to completing work safely; meticulous documentation of tasks performed; maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Ability to clearly communicate the results of lab testing and analysis or any issues to the Senior Lab Technician and Project Lead Engineer.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory testing equipment, including maintenance and calibration.
- Lab experience in mechanical, chemical, biological, or food processing settings is beneficial.
- Preferred experience with instrumentation sensors and data acquisition systems.
- Experience with plumbing, mechanical refrigeration, air conditioning, or other thermal systems is also preferred.
- Validation of lab experience is required.
