Job Summary

The California Amforge Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance functions of our facilities and equipment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising a team of maintenance employees, scheduling, training, and performance reviews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage a team of maintenance employees, ensuring they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
  • Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks to support production needs, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of combustion controls and equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement procedures for maintenance operations, including working sketches, bills of materials, and requisitions.
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and mentoring to maintenance and plant services teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the maintenance department, parts storage, and tool areas are well-organized and maintained, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Develop and maintain an effective preventive maintenance program, ensuring all PM requirements are completed as scheduled.
  • Establish and maintain a maintenance management system, driving improvement in equipment reliability and uptime.
  • Participate in and support the company's Continuous Improvement (CI) and 6S programs, promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Participate in capital improvement and repair planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Support EHS efforts for safety and compliance, promoting a safe working environment.
  • Attend training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge, as required by manufacturing process changes.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of PLC Controls, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business objectives.
  • Recommend employees for advancement and participate in disciplinary actions, ensuring fair and consistent treatment.
  • Operate within the department's budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Report departmental KPIs and develop corrective actions to drive improvement.
  • Ensure the department's staff promotes positive employee relations, adheres to labor agreements, and follows company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the grievance procedure, as applicable.
  • Perform other duties as directed, commensurate with skills and company needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Experience with forging equipment, including presses and furnaces, is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of machine shop practices, welding procedures, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electricity, and mobile equipment repair is essential.
  • Knowledge and ability to design and modify equipment are highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, and architectural drawings is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, technical, or business discipline is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret and present technical data.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds unaided.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of the workday standing, walking, and bending.
  • Ability to pass vision and hearing tests with or without assistance.
  • Ability to work safely in enclosed spaces.
  • Ability to work at height and climb ladders.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of the day in full sunlight and occasionally in wet weather.
