Job Summary

Michaels Stores is seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to lead our store's operational processes and deliver exceptional customer experiences. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing inventory, visual merchandising, and shrink and safety programs, while also developing and coaching a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Store Manager in planning and executing store workload, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and manage adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company programs, ensuring execution of company policies and standards.
  • Support and participate in truck unloading and stocking processes, ensuring truck standards are followed and completed within budget.
  • Manage and execute inventory management processes, including merchandise operations and omni-channel processes.
  • Develop and implement visual merchandising standards, including feature space and seasonal layouts.
  • Train, observe, and coach team members to achieve results, participate in performance management, and support talent development.
  • Interact with customers in a positive and respectful manner, providing solutions and promoting commitment to the organization's vision and values.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) and acknowledge customers, help locate products, and provide solutions.
  • Cross-trained in custom framing selling and production.
  • Assist with omni-channel processes and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Retail management leadership experience.
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods, move throughout the store, and perform regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching.
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.
Work Environment

Public retail store setting, taking care of customers, with all public areas climate-controlled. Some stock rooms may not be climate-controlled, and some outdoor work may be required. Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
