Orthopaedic Access Coordinator

Description:
The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience at Resurgens Orthopaedics. This individual is responsible for managing all aspects of the registration process, including insurance verifications, patient collections, referrals, and scanning documents into our electronic health record system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers, responding promptly and courteously to requests within 24 hours.
- Verify patient insurance coverage to ensure accurate eligibility for treatment.
- Effectively collect patient co-pays and balances as needed.
- Maintain departmental goals and productivity parameters as set forth by the Care Coordination Manager.
- Assist patients with completing paperwork, answering insurance-related questions, and addressing concerns.
- Cross-train with colleagues to meet the needs of the clinic.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of medical office or customer service experience preferred.
- Excellent computer and 10-key skills.
- Knowledge of Word and Excel systems.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain quality control standards.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of EHR systems is a plus.
- Typing speed of at least 40 WPM.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
