Job Summary:

The Bilingual Patient Access Call Center Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional patient experience through inbound and outbound call resolution, ensuring timely scheduling, registration, and billing for multiple clinic sites and the Access Resource Center. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prioritize and manage inbound and outbound calls, delivering a high-quality patient experience through effective call resolution.
  2. Interview patients to obtain demographic, financial, and clinical information, ensuring accurate and efficient registration and scheduling.
  3. Utilize critical thinking skills to escalate complex patient situations and identify trends requiring management intervention.
  4. Maintain and coordinate scheduling support for the Network, ensuring referrals, pre-authorizations, and pre-certifications are accurately obtained.
  5. Coordinate diagnostic and ancillary scheduling, selecting appropriate referral, provider, visit type, and location to expedite patient access to care.
  6. Perform operational tasks to reduce errors and improve productivity.
  7. Assist Out-of-Network patients with financial questions and escalate to the appropriate party.
  8. Provide information regarding services and additional assistance as needed.
  9. Identify existing Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) or create new MRNs, avoiding duplicates and overlays.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Professional Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • 1+ years of experience in call center processes and/or clerical experience.
  • Bilingual (fluent in Spanish and English) with the ability to pass a Spanish oral assessment within 60 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a related field of study from an accredited college or university.
  • Patient registration or Customer Service and call center experience.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting.
