Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, inspect, and authorize onsite residential septic systems
- Support the permitting process for large onsite water pollution control facilities
- Address complaints regarding septic system infractions
- Offer technical guidance related to septic systems

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in physical science, environmental science, or a related discipline, along with 3 years of pertinent experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of technical experience in natural resource management
  • Registration with the Oregon Health Licensing Office in an environmental discipline
  • Completion of 10 hours of soil science coursework within the first two years of employment

Preferred Skills:

  • Awareness of environmental justice issues
  • Familiarity with onsite wastewater treatment systems
  • Experience in septic system inspections
  • Capability to investigate environmental complaints
  • Excellent communication abilities

Work Environment:
- Possibility of a hybrid work setting
- Travel across the state for meetings and field assessments
- Potential exposure to pollutants and adverse weather conditions during fieldwork
