The Salvation Army Thrift Store is seeking a dedicated Cashier to join our team. The Cashier plays a vital role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. Responsibilities include:

  • Welcoming customers with a friendly demeanor and assisting them with inquiries.
  • Answering phone calls in a courteous manner.
  • Receiving donations and providing donors with receipts as requested.
  • Managing the cash register efficiently during shifts, including counting the cash drawer before and after work hours.
  • Maintaining a tidy and organized register area.
  • Ensuring merchandise is displayed neatly and is of high quality.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma; some college education is preferred.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Able to foster positive relationships with team members.
  • Experience in leading and coordinating volunteer efforts.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
  • Must successfully pass a background check.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires regular walking, standing, climbing, and balancing. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 35 pounds occasionally.
