Job Title: Transit Operations Manager

Join the North Central Regional Transit District team as a Transit Operations Manager, responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the daily functions of the Transit Operations Division.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, manage, and oversee the daily operations of transit services, including fixed route, express, commuter, and microtransit services.
  • Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the division, recommending service and staffing levels as needed.
  • Contribute to the development, administration, and oversight of the division budget, ensuring compliance with budgeted funding.
  • Develop and standardize procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of assigned programs and services.
  • Participate in the selection, training, and evaluation of assigned personnel, recommending discipline and termination procedures as needed.
  • Conduct operator behind-the-wheel assessments and review daily work schedules to ensure proper route coverage and minimal overtime impact.
  • Manage and administer fixed route operator scheduling, Intelligent Transit system software, timekeeping software, and microtransit services software.
  • Prepare and present staff and agenda reports, as well as other necessary correspondence related to assigned activities and services.
  • Conduct organizational and operational studies and investigations, recommending modifications to assigned programs, policies, and procedures as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison for assigned functions with other District departments, divisions, and outside agencies.
  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings, staying abreast of new trends and innovations in transportation service delivery and planning.
Requirements:
  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in planning, public administration, business management, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in the management or administration of a regional or local transit system, with three (3) years in a management or supervisory capacity.
