Forest Development and Restoration Manager

Join the Santa Clara Pueblo Administrative team as a Forest Development and Restoration Manager. This exciting opportunity will allow you to utilize your expertise in forestry, ecology, and management to lead our forest development and restoration programs.
Job Summary:The Forest Development and Restoration Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of forest restoration and development programs. This includes supervising project managers, crew bosses, heavy equipment operators, and technicians, as well as coordinating with other departments and agencies to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement forest restoration and development programs
- Supervise project managers, crew bosses, heavy equipment operators, and technicians
- Coordinate with other departments and agencies to ensure successful project outcomes
- Conduct fieldwork, including timber cruising, marking, and forest survey assignments
- Develop and implement ecological prescriptions for forest restoration and development projects
- Collaborate with other natural resource staff and specialists to ensure successful project outcomes
- Bachelor of Science/Arts degree in Forestry, Ecosystems Management, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in forestry, ecology, or related field
- Valid New Mexico Driver's License and insurable through the Tribe's insurance carrier
- Pass a background check and drug/alcohol screening
The Forest Development and Restoration Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, with approximately 30% of the work performed in the field. The incumbent must be physically capable and willing to endure extended periods of work under a wide variety of environmental conditions.
