Job Title: Deputy Director

The State of Montana is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support to our Director, as well as overseeing the administrative, planning, and operations functions of our department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic planning and guidance to the Director and other senior leaders
  • Oversee the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
  • Manage and coordinate the work of senior management, including division administrators
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including state and local government officials, community leaders, and other external partners
  • Provide leadership and guidance on budget management, personnel management, and public relations
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in a government agency or non-profit organization
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions
