Job Title: Compliance Investigator 1

Job Summary:

The Georgia Department of Labor is seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented individuals to fill multiple Compliance Investigator 1 positions in the Benefits Payment Control Unit at the Georgia Department of Labor Headquarters in downtown Atlanta, GA.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and investigate Unemployment Insurance Identify Verification and ID Theft cases under general supervision.
  • Gather and analyze pertinent documents and evidence to support findings.
  • Assist in preparing cases for overpayment establishment, civil action, and criminal prosecution.
  • Process required department, state, and federal reports per established guidelines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers regarding identification verification requirements and other areas of assignment.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, emails, faxes, phone calls, and other correspondence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of professional investigative experience with a state, federal, or local governmental entity.
  • Four or more years' experience processing and/or adjudicating claims/rendering overpayment determinations.
  • Ability to use proper and effective investigative and interview techniques.
  • Experience generating and managing high-volume, detailed work, requiring critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation in reports.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of experience in a technical job related to the area of assignment.
