Family Support Services Case Manager

Position Overview:
The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to fulfill the role of a Family Intensive Resource Support Team Case Worker. This position is integral to providing essential support to families and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities outlined below serve as a general overview and are not exhaustive:
- Assist in evaluating the needs of individuals and families, and aid in formulating objectives and strategies to meet those needs.
- Deliver direct support services within clients' homes or community settings, focusing on behavioral, recreational, and community safety programming.
- Provide guidance in daily living and social skills through instruction and assistance.
- Offer training and mentorship, acting as a role model for family members to effectively achieve the objectives set forth by the Family Intensive Resource Support Team.
- Collaborate with families to implement the goals identified in the Family Intensive Resource Support Team framework.
- Complete all necessary administrative tasks as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
- Familiarity with various disability groups.
- Understanding of human rights principles.
- Proficient in using contemporary software applications.
Additional Information:
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- Days off: Saturday and Sunday
About the Department of Developmental Services:
The mission of DDS is to create innovative opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, to engage fully and contribute meaningfully to their communities. DDS serves over 43,000 individuals, providing a comprehensive range of day, employment, and residential support services.
Pre-Employment Process:
Recommended candidates must successfully complete pre-employment screening, which includes:
- Background checks as mandated by relevant regulations.
- Verification of education, licensure, and certifications in accordance with hiring guidelines.
Minimum Entrance Requirements:
Applicants must possess at least two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience in providing direct support services to individuals with developmental, intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities, or any equivalent combination of experience and education.
