Position Summary:

ARC is in search of a meticulous and cooperative professional to fill the role of Research Analyst within our Research and Evaluation Division. This position is pivotal in supporting the Director of Research and Evaluation with a diverse array of strategic planning, research, and evaluation tasks aligned with ARC's Strategic Investment Plan. Responsibilities include assisting with the 5-year strategic plan, gathering and interpreting data to assess annual progress towards strategic objectives, managing various research and planning initiatives, and contributing to multiple research, data, and evaluation projects. The Research and Evaluation team engages in both internal and external work through commissioned contracts to analyze socioeconomic conditions, assess economic development trends, identify areas of need, and evaluate ARC's programmatic investments. The insights generated are utilized for policy documents, workshops, press releases, research reports, evaluation studies, website content, and other communication channels. This role reports directly to the Division Director.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge in community or strategic planning methodologies.
  • Proficient understanding of research methodologies, both quantitative and qualitative, along with familiarity in statistics and social sciences (planning, economics, geography, sociology, etc.).
  • Exceptional writing capabilities for diverse audiences, both technical and general.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in various software applications including grants management tools, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience collaborating with teams on research and evaluation projects focused on strategic and community planning.
  • Demonstrated public speaking skills and experience presenting to large audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of data collection and research analysis, with the ability to distill findings for both technical and general audiences.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to establish and adhere to project timelines and deliverables.
  • Core competencies include accountability, adaptability, collaboration, communication, and critical analysis.
  • Ability to excel in a collaborative environment, bringing a dynamic and innovative approach to work.
  • Bachelor's degree in regional and community planning, economic development, geography, public administration, or related fields.
  • Two to four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Successful completion and ongoing maintenance of a background security review prior to employment.
  • Willingness to travel (~25%). A valid driver's license is required if travel is necessary.
