HV Substation Commissioning Engineer

As a Substation Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all site testing, commissioning, and installation activities are carried out to the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Quality, while safeguarding the Environment.
This includes maintaining compliance with GE Grid and client policies and procedures, as well as UK and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure all site commissioning and installation activities are carried out to the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Quality, and in a manner that safeguards the environment.
- Ensure that all site commissioning activities are undertaken in full compliance with GE Grid and client policies and procedures, in addition to UK and international legislation.
- Test, commission, and service installed primary and secondary equipment during construction and in-service substation operations.
- Effectively execute projects in line with client and GE expectations, programmes, and budgets.
- Ensure accurate on-site test records, reports, and quality documentation are created, maintained, and circulated in accordance with GE internal governance and GE quality plans.
- Effectively work alongside other assigned staff as part of a team to successfully deliver projects.
- Travel throughout the UK and globally as and when required. Estimated 90% travel requirements.
- Able to work on offshore windfarms.
- Full UK/EU driving license required. A company car will be provided.
- Effective and efficient testing and commissioning of substation equipment, ensuring that agreed work is carried out in accordance with the pre-set time scales and budgets.
- Execution of day-to-day commissioning activities to successfully achieve on-time delivery of assigned projects.
- Responsible for the preparation, creation, and issue of site documentation, including but not limited to RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement), NCR's (Non-conformance Report), TQ's (Technical Queries), in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
- Communicating site non-compliances and/or deviations to the Site Manager & Project Engineer.
- Reports to the Site Manager/Project Manager and Commissioning Manager.
- Enacting the role of LV Authorized Person in accordance with requirements of the GE LV Safe System of Work (LVSSOW) procedures.
- Comply with the GE Code of Ethics.
