Position Overview
The Lead Site Installation Specialist will collaborate with a diverse range of contractors, commissioning technicians, design engineers, project managers, and testing teams to oversee the installation of automated systems at client locations. The primary objective of this role is to guarantee that automated systems are installed on schedule, within budget, and delivered defect-free to the operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage site-specific Requests for Information (RFIs), ensuring timely responses in line with established service level agreements.
- Maintain daily updates on installation progress and commissioning readiness using the Golden Prerequisite (GPR) tool.
- Ensure that contractors and vendors comprehend the scope of work detailed in engineering bulletins, and validate the completion of tasks.
- Conduct kickoff meetings for project scopes and oversee contractor and vendor quality through checklist sign-offs.
- Validate and document any missing material requests from the site, including root cause analysis.
- Support the validation of site efforts by reviewing and assessing the validity of site Field Change Notices (FCNs) and associated resource requirements.
- Provide hands-on support to the commissioning team to ensure efficient system functionality during the commissioning process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical or automation installation is essential.
- Proven experience in supervising teams and managing contractors in industrial or robotic automation projects.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills are crucial for addressing technical team challenges and competing priorities.
- Proficiency in utilizing metrics and data analysis to enhance process efficiency.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role that requires significant travel, up to 80% of the time. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and be prepared to travel to various client locations. The position involves working at customer installation sites for extended periods, where physical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds and navigating construction environments.
Safety Compliance
All employees must adhere to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and fall protection measures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory on construction sites.
