Position Overview:
The Event Sales Coordinator is tasked with achieving designated catering and banquet objectives that align with the overall success of the hotel.
The Event Sales Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Director of Sales or Director of Catering to meet the hotel's revenue and market share targets across one or more properties.
The emphasis on catering sales may differ based on the specific property to which the associate is assigned (e.g., Social Corporate Business SMERF).Management-level associates are expected to dedicate sufficient time each workday to fulfill their job responsibilities; for OEM associates, overtime is applicable and calculated accordingly.
Key Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
A High School diploma or equivalent is required; prior experience in Catering Sales is preferred.
Demonstrated creativity and knowledge of food and beverage services are desirable.
A valid driver's license for the applicable state is necessary.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for negotiating, persuading, selling, and influencing other managerial personnel, hotel guests, and/or corporate clients.
Proficiency in general computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products, is required.
The ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously is crucial; strong organizational and presentation skills are necessary.
Job Duties:
Successfully achieve assigned sales and revenue targets, as well as solicitation call objectives.
Proactively engage in solicitation calls, conduct sales tours, and entertain clients specific to Social Corporate Business or SMERF as applicable by property.
Monitor and assess trends within your market segment.
Approach all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
Adhere to established regulations, company standards, catering/meeting standards, and related catering sales metrics.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the hotel's operations and policies, as well as those of relevant departments.
Ensure timely generation and accuracy of the Daily Event List, Banquet Event Order/Guarantee Sheet, and Ten Day Event Schedule.
May assist in the implementation and/or participation in special promotions related to direct sales segments, such as sales blitzes.
Attend daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, along with any other functions required by management.
Perform any additional duties as requested by the General Manager or Director of Sales.
