Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Engineer is tasked with ensuring the integrity of quality assurance processes within the manufacturing or production setting. This role encompasses the development and execution of quality control protocols, supporting inspection and testing activities, diagnosing production or product discrepancies, and suggesting corrective measures to uphold superior quality standards.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Formulate and execute quality control strategies, procedures, and practices tailored for manufacturing operations.
  2. Offer technical assistance regarding inspections and quality assessments for incoming materials, ongoing production, and completed products.
  3. Examine and interpret statistical data alongside product specifications to establish benchmarks and quality goals.
  4. Detect root causes of quality challenges and collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to implement corrective actions.
  5. Ensure adherence to quality standards and protocols, including ISO and other regulatory requirements.
  6. Document and communicate quality assurance activities, testing outcomes, and process deviations through the DMR and RMA systems.
  7. Educate and guide production staff on quality control methods and best practices.
  8. Engage in both internal and external quality audits.
  9. Work with suppliers and clients to address quality concerns and enhance overall product quality.
  10. Oversee gage repeatability and reproducibility assessments.
  11. Stay informed on industry standards and advancements in quality assurance methodologies.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing context.
  • Comprehensive understanding of quality control standards and practices.
  • Familiarity with metrology and GD&T.
  • Experience with quality assurance methodologies and tools (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, PPAP, APQP, etc.).
  • Capability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and precision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Auditor, or other professional credentials).
  • Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AMSE NQA-1, etc.).

Work Environment:

  • Primarily operates in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • May involve occasional travel to client or supplier locations.
