Role Overview: The Registered Nurse is accountable for providing safe patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.

The role involves delivering direct patient care within the defined scope of practice and overseeing patient and family education, as well as the activities of other nursing staff, while adhering to professional nursing standards in the Emergency Department.

The Registered Nurse is directly responsible for the care provided to patients in the Emergency Department and must be knowledgeable about relevant regulations and reporting procedures for child/adult abuse.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of experience as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital setting is required; certification as an Emergency Nurse (CEN) is preferred.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Facility-Specific Requirements:

  • Completion of emergency pediatric courses 1 and 2 within six months of hire may be required for specific facilities.
