Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse delivers direct patient care within the defined scope of practice in the Outpatient Services environment.

The Registered Nurse collaborates with physicians, the Director of Surgical Services, House Supervisors, and colleagues regarding any changes in the patient's clinical status, including diagnostic results and symptomatology.

The Registered Nurse is adept at responding swiftly and accurately to alterations in condition or treatment responses.

The Registered Nurse coordinates patient care with the surgeon and/or anesthesiologist, directing and guiding other personnel while upholding care standards within the Outpatient Department.

Collaborates with various departments and colleagues to ensure quality patient care throughout the continuum, efficient patient flow, and effective unit organization and maintenance.

Responsible for compliance with regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures. Engages in Performance Improvement initiatives, unit meetings, and in-service training. Acts as a resource for other personnel as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

Current and valid state RN License. Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire and maintain current. ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current. PALS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current. Previous experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred. Moderate Sedation competency must be completed within 30 days of hire. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
