About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Behavioral Health Specialist VI to join our team in Houston. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing advanced counseling and psychological services to Service Members of the Texas Military Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, counsel, and report on mental health and emotional needs of Service Members.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, safety plans, and behavioral health screening protocols.
  • Provide evidence-informed clinical treatment services to Service Members.
  • Collaborate with Texas Military Department unit leadership to support mental health awareness and wellness promotion plans.
  • Respond to critical incidents involving violent acts or major injuries and death, providing postvention and grief support.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Master's or PhD program with major coursework in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience providing clinical treatment as an independently licensed provider.
  • Valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, conduct individual and group discussions, and interpret policies, procedures, and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience providing mental health services to military members.
  • Experience in the administration of a relevant counseling program.
  • Prior military service or experience working in a military environment.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
