Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Catholic Health Initiatives. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating diagnostic equipment and performing technical angiography procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Operate diagnostic equipment and perform angiography procedures, providing patient orientation and pre and post diagnostic care.
  • Position patients and calibrate equipment to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Document findings and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare equipment for procedures, ensuring it is operational and safe.
  • Problem-solve equipment failure and imaging quality issues, contacting service representatives as needed.
  • Ensure daily equipment and room maintenance, adhering to infection control standards.
  • Complete quality checks and maintain equipment logs.
  • Manage clinical supply inventory and ensure diagnostic rooms are equipped with necessary supplies.
  • Participate in patient testing, communicating with patient transportation, nursing units, and other diagnostic areas to ensure smooth and efficient procedures.
  • Provide patient orientation, preparation, and teaching prior to, during, and after procedures.
  • Review physician orders to verify diagnostic test requests and indications.
  • Obtain patient history and position patients according to departmental protocols.
  • Assume responsibility for patient safety, emotional, and physical comfort during procedures.
  • Adhere to hospital guidelines on maintaining sterile fields and monitoring radiation dose levels.
  • Perform required image post-processing and assist radiologists in sterile procedures as needed.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R) and certified by the State of Texas - MRT.
  • CPR/BLS certification.
  • BSLMC requires ARRT (VI) or AART (CV) certification within 2 years of employment.
