About the Role

McDermott is seeking a skilled Crane Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of vessel cranes and associated equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Wear, inspect, and care for required personal protective equipment.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of vessel cranes and associated equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to ensure that any changes to systems are documented, logged, and approved by the responsible authority.
  • Maintain a current vendor's catalogue library of all equipment in area of responsibility.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vessel Crane Operators to understand any crane-related issues, defects, or concerns.
  • Ensure adequate inventory and level of spares is maintained at all times in area of responsibility.
  • Familiarize yourself with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to your duties.
  • Refuse unsafe work and carry out all work in accordance with established safety standards and work practices.
  • Participate in emergency and occupational onboard training, such as self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills, and other training as applicable for the function.
Requirements
  • Proven background working with hydraulic systems in an offshore environment, preferably related to offshore cranes.
  • BOSIET certification.
  • Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness.
  • STCW Reg certification.
  • VI-6 – Security Familiarization.
  • STCW95 Reg. III/1 – Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch OICEW (preferred).
