Job Overview

The Controls and Instrumentation Specialist is integral to the establishment, management, and upkeep of various operational networks, data historian servers, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and web services. This role involves collaboration with both internal teams and external partners to ensure the effectiveness and dependability of network systems, addressing issues, and enforcing standards to benefit internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities encompass network surveillance, performance evaluation, and fault resolution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the programming, design, and troubleshooting of network systems.
  • Providing support for PLC programming and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Serving as the main point of contact for failures in network and computer equipment.
  • Ensuring the maintenance and troubleshooting of Wonderware Operator Station systems.
  • Supporting the upkeep and design of process data storage and web services.
  • Creating and maintaining system documentation.
  • Contributing to the development of advanced process controls.
  • Performing backups for essential data and systems.
  • Configuring and deploying control workstations.
  • Collaborating to design and enhance control systems.
  • Reviewing and endorsing project control programs.
  • Coordinating resources for projects, both internal and external.
  • Commissioning electrical and automation networking systems.
  • Surpassing end users' expectations regarding system functionality and reliability.
  • Interfacing with equipment and system integration vendors.
  • Completing any additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in IT/OT, networking, electrical, and instrumentation.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCST and CAP are beneficial.
  • Expertise in network protocols, web services, and associated technologies.
  • Experience with various man-machine interface programs and programming languages.
  • Detail-oriented with robust problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel and provide off-hours support as necessary.
