Position Overview

Area Vice President

Sunbelt Rentals, the fastest expanding rental enterprise in North America, is on the lookout for an Area Vice President.

In this role, you will be accountable for ensuring that the regional sales team and operations collaborate effectively and efficiently by formulating business and market strategies that promote growth and profitability, engage and inspire employees, ensure optimal placement of staff, provide sales leadership, and uphold a high standard of customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

OPERATIONS:

  • Formulate action plans that clearly delineate the tactical steps necessary to meet regional monthly, quarterly, and annual objectives.
  • Analyze all Profit and Loss Reports and adjust strategies as needed to enhance Regional, District, and Profit Center operations.
  • Establish a regional organizational framework capable of efficiently addressing customer needs and achieving growth and revenue targets.
  • Guide District Managers in maximizing profits through optimal fleet mix, pricing strategies, service/preventive maintenance programs, utilization, delivery, and fleet sharing between Profit Centers.
  • Collaborate with key management to execute programs and provide direction for modifications in line with changes in business conditions and company objectives.
BUSINESS STRATEGY:

  • Strategically design and implement operational and sales-driven excellence to achieve business outcomes.
  • Execute market plans to realize maximum sales and profit potential.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with long-term established objectives.
  • Identify and leverage industry and market trends.
SALES AND CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE:

  • Lead the sales function and oversee activities including forecasting, management, and sales force development.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service by collaborating with all levels of management and support staff to resolve issues and identify opportunities.
LEADERSHIP:

  • Mentor District Managers in creating and executing their development plans to cultivate a leadership pipeline within the Region.
  • Ensure that the management team, sales staff, and support personnel receive the necessary guidance to perform their roles effectively and foster a culture of growth.
  • Ensure cohesive leadership and consistency across districts within the region.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing or a related field. In lieu of a degree, equivalent years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in regional or district management, along with five years of sales experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of the construction industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of Profit and Loss Accountability.
  • Exceptional leadership, motivational, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Must be capable of motivating, inspiring, and achieving results through others.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proven ability to drive results in alignment with Sunbelt values and objectives.

The physical demands of this position may include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required by the role.
