Position Summary
The Import Compliance Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the customs brokerage compliance activities at LOGISTEED-America, Inc. This role reports directly to the Director of Customs Brokerage Compliance and the Vice President of Corporate Administration.
This position demands exceptional leadership capabilities and the proficiency to monitor and report on all import brokerage compliance operations within the United States, ensuring adherence to regulations set forth by various Participating Government Agencies. Key responsibilities encompass the establishment of policies, procedures, and strategic direction for a compliant import customs regulatory framework, as well as the enforcement of compliance guidelines and the maintenance of accurate recordkeeping.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and manage client compliance requirements, delivering compliance presentations both internally and externally. Foster a knowledgeable and proactive team environment among all LUS managers.
- Oversee all import brokerage compliance initiatives at LUS, providing regulatory guidance, support, and training to branch locations.
- Instill a culture of accountability to enhance results while minimizing risks and liabilities for LUS and its clientele through robust regulatory and corporate policy adherence.
- Assume ownership and responsibility for resolving compliance issues, keeping the Director and VP of Corporate Administration updated on project progress.
- Maintain effective working relationships with branch offices and clients.
- Conduct compliance presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following outlines the essential functions of this role:
- Provide internal regulatory support and guidance across various compliance areas.
- Deliver technical regulatory assistance to branches as needed.
- Conduct classification research for complex items upon request.
- Review and audit branch-validated powers of attorney.
- Monitor and manage compliance of reconciliation entries.
- Perform compliance audits of branch operations, including quarterly evaluations and follow-up assessments.
- Review and update brokerage policies and procedures with necessary approvals.
- Act as the compliance liaison between sales, branches, and key client compliance personnel.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in brokerage.
- Strong knowledge of classification and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in compliance policy development and auditing.
- 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
- Licensed customs broker preferred.
Work Environment
This position may require work in various environments, including warehouses, where conditions may not be climate-controlled.
