SIGMA DESIGN is collaborating with a leading firm in the Aerospace and Telecommunications sector, seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Software Engineer to enhance their operations. This role is crucial in supporting the mission to provide efficient and affordable broadband solutions to underserved communities globally. The engagement is a contract role with a projected duration of 6 months.

  • Salary range: $77,000 - $96,000 annually, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop software systems for testing aerospace components and satellites, ensuring peak performance and reliability in challenging conditions.
  • Focus on creating integrated operations and automation solutions for various components and platforms.
  • Develop modular and reusable test automation software using Python and related programming languages for engineering validation.
  • Create automation software to interface with flight hardware, testing equipment, instrumentation, and production documentation systems.
  • Implement software solutions that facilitate testing across diverse environments, including hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) and virtualized simulations.
  • Innovate custom automation solutions to address engineering and manufacturing challenges through embedded electronics and advanced hardware.
  • Formulate algorithms to analyze complex test data to verify component acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot existing automation systems, collaborating with partner teams to identify and resolve failure root causes.
  • Establish and execute project plans, manage milestones, and conduct reviews to ensure reliable test systems are delivered.
  • Develop tools that enhance the frequency and reliability of software deployment, test execution, and data analysis as part of a continuous integration and release process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of software development experience in C, C++, or Python; full-stack development experience is also acceptable.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment for power electronics.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing skills.
  • Proven experience in authoring documentation for software development processes.
  • Experience with continuous integration and monitoring practices.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of batteries, electronics, manufacturing, mathematics, and physics.
  • Must pass a background check upon acceptance of an offer.

Work Environment:
The position is primarily in a standard office setting with typical office conditions. Occasional work in environments simulating user conditions may be required for design testing and validation. Travel to other facilities or client locations may also be necessary.
