Position Summary: We are seeking a highly driven and proactive individual for a challenging role within our expanding specialty pharmacy management services. The ideal candidate will be an experienced pharmacy technician, registered in their state of employment. While national certification as a CPhT is preferred, it is not mandatory. This role requires someone who can work autonomously and build strong, credible relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and internal staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional care to patients by providing comprehensive medication management services.
  • Collaborate effectively with the clinic team, including physicians and nursing staff, to support patient care both in-person and via phone.
  • Educate potential pharmacy patients on the benefits of our services and how we enhance their overall healthcare experience.
  • Assist with outpatient retail and specialty prescription needs.
  • Facilitate the growth of the specialty pharmacy's patient base.
  • Ensure patients adhere to their medication regimens through proactive follow-ups and refill management.
  • Maintain effective communication with the centralized Patient Service Center regarding refill reports and other relevant data.
  • Contribute to the development of new processes to enhance operational efficiency and patient care.
  • Identify medications requiring special handling and ensure proper storage.
  • Manage inbound inquiries, providing resolutions and triaging as necessary.
  • Assist with insurance-related issues, including prior authorizations and financial assistance for patients.
  • Document all necessary information accurately in required systems.
  • Utilize database applications to manage and update relevant patient data.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Licensure/Certification: State registration as a pharmacy technician is required. National certification as a CPhT is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician is required; 3-5 years is preferred.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.

Skills and Traits: The successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work independently, and demonstrate sound judgment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, is essential. The candidate should be organized, dependable, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
