Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Resident Medication Assistant to join our team at The Parkview, a thriving senior living community. As a Resident Medication Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting residents with the self-administration of medications, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with the self-administration of medications as ordered by the primary physician, under the direction and supervision of the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, Wellness Nurse, or Executive Director.
  • Implement policies and procedures in assisting with medication dispensing, adhering to established residential care standards, policies, procedures, and practices of the community and required by RCFE rules and regulations.
  • Work effectively as part of a healthcare team, sharing information freely, using and seeking supervision and consultation verbally and in writing, and following both verbal and written instructions.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred.
  • 8 hours approved medication administration training and passing grade of 85% or better on exam.
  • Satisfactory completion of 8 hours medication administration shadowing with an approved Trainer.
  • 4 hours of continuing education on medication administration annually.
  • Proficient ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language.
  • Two years experience in a long term care or assisted living setting preferred.
  • All staff that provide direct care to residents will have current first aid training and CPR certification.
