Position Summary:
The Medication Technician provides assistance to residents with their medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This role involves performing routine care duties and supporting daily living activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accepts, accounts for, and documents all new medications brought into the facility. Safely prepares and assists residents with self-administration of medications while maintaining accurate medication records.
- Guides residents in adhering to their daily activity schedules, fostering a sense of independence. Tailors care and assistance to meet the individual needs of each resident based on their functional capabilities.
- Assists residents with personal care tasks including dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, and exercising. Transfers and escorts residents as necessary.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability and adherence to safety protocols as well as follow directives from supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of required RCFE training as a Medication Technician.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a caregiver in a facility or home care setting.
- Ability to work effectively in a healthcare and Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) environment.
- Knowledge of safe lifting and back care techniques.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
