Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at AH Rocky Mountain. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department and promoting improved quality and patient safety in the Operating Room.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decontamination and Sterilization: Sterilize supplies and instruments using the prescribed method, operate washer/decontaminator per department policy and procedure, and understand the basic principles of all sterilization equipment used in the department.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Validate the proper functioning of all equipment using established mechanical and biological monitors, and assure that sterilized supplies and instruments are correctly labeled and stored in a manner to ensure sterility.
  • Quality and Infection Prevention: Ensure that all quality, infection prevention, regulatory, and Joint Commission Standards are upheld at all times, and demonstrate technical skills needed to establish and maintain High-Level Disinfection (HLD) processes.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification: CRCST or CSPDT certification required within 18 months of hire or transfer
