Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor of Sterile Processing Operations to join our team at UCHealth. As a key member of our Sterile Processing Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our staff, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the processing and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and direct the activities of sterile processing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all sterile processing activities are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Instrument and Equipment Management: Oversee the receipt, sorting, decontamination, and sterilization of medical instruments and equipment, ensuring that all items are properly cleaned, disinfected, and packaged for use.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and coaching to sterile processing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, hire, and manage a team of sterile processing staff, including conducting performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the Sterile Processing Department is in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including those related to quality, safety, and infection control.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; medical terminology course preferred.
  • Certification: Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required; leadership development courses and second certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a sterile processing department, with a strong background in leadership and supervision.
