Job Summary

The Children's Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer and direct calls in a calm and diplomatic manner, utilizing customer service skills to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Pre-register or quickly register patients as required to schedule appointments.
  • Provide patient orientation on clinical settings and environments.
  • Interview patients over the phone to obtain new patient data.
  • Make, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments.
  • Regularly check TCC Phone Operator Pool, myChart messages, and Artera messages.
  • Generate telephone encounter messages for providers and in-basket messages to corresponding clinic staff.
  • Contact clinic staff for patients or sent messages.
  • Answer general patient inquiries and provide current healthcare program enrollment information.
  • Coordinate or schedule appointments for eligibility and enrollment.
  • Assist in keeping the team's business operations and activities organized and moving forward.
  • Participate in workshops and trainings.
  • Provide feedback to managers for scheduling or template errors.
  • Work under pressure and maintain great customer service skills at all times.
  • Rotate schedules, including evening shifts.
  • Organize and maintain accurate records and files.
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse range of people and departments.
  • Maintain a working relationship with all team players.
Requirements
  • Customer service skills are required.
  • High school education or equivalent is required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Khmer is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Ability to perform administrative duties accurately while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
  • High level of motivation and initiative.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with peers.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Ability to produce quality results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organization skills, initiative, and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven reliability, trustworthiness, flexibility, and high ethical standards.
  • Knowledge of accounting software, Excel, and Word.
