Overview:
Facilitates the secure and effective execution of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepares the surgical environment with necessary drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
2. Ensures all equipment and instruments are in optimal working condition.
3. Assists in preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
4. Provides instruments to the physician during surgical procedures.

Maintains continuous accountability for the number and location of instruments and supplies throughout the surgery.
Processes specimens for laboratory delivery.
Within the scope of the role, critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision are essential. Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate actions.

Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED or Military training.
State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification.
Minimum of 6 months of Surgical Tech experience or graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech program.

BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer is required before the start date.

BLS or CPR certification must remain valid for sixty days post-hire.
