Job Overview

The Commercial Vehicle Compliance Inspector is responsible for conducting thorough inspections on commercial vehicles to ensure adherence to regulations regarding weight, dimensions, registration, safety, and equipment standards. This role also involves evaluating and testing various commercial vehicle brake systems to verify compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In instances of non-compliance, inspectors will refer cases to enforcement officers for appropriate action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections on commercial vehicles to assess compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Test and evaluate brake systems on various types of commercial vehicles.
  • Document inspection findings and prepare reports for review.
  • Collaborate with enforcement officers when violations are identified.

Work Environment

Inspectors will be assigned to work shifts, which may include weekends. The shifts are structured as follows:

  • Shift A: Early morning to afternoon
  • Shift B: Afternoon to evening
  • Additional shifts may be available as needed.

Qualifications

  • A valid California Driver's License (CDL) is required. Applicants must provide details regarding their CDL on the application.
  • Successful completion of a Drug Screening is mandatory prior to employment.
  • A Background Investigation must be cleared before hiring.
  • Medical Clearance is required before starting the position.
