Position Overview:
The Commercial Vehicle Technician role involves the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of heavy-duty trucks and related machinery, both in the workshop and during roadside assistance.

Compensation: $35.70 per hour, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct scheduled maintenance and repairs on equipment in a timely manner.
2. Diagnose, repair, and clean heavy-duty trucks and machinery, which may involve the removal of concrete buildup.
3. Prioritize and address equipment issues based on safety, customer service, and maintenance needs.
4. Maintain accurate documentation of all repairs and consistently update the shop manager and dispatch on the status of vehicles.
5. Assist in managing parts inventory by ensuring proper organization and recording of removed parts.
6. Work safely and report any incidents or injuries to management immediately.
7. Participate in scheduled safety meetings.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications:
- Must possess personal tools.
- Experience in mechanical work on commercial vehicles.
- Proficient in diesel engine diagnostics across various manufacturers.
- Familiarity with basic fabrication and the use of welding and gas torch equipment.
- Experience in performing preventative maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
The role involves climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, twisting, pushing, pulling, and frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of 75 to 100 pounds. Candidates must be able to work in extreme temperatures and wet conditions.

Conditions of Employment:
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, and a background check. Some positions may necessitate ongoing drug and alcohol testing as per FMCSA regulations.
