Position Overview:

The Senior Marine Engineering Officer plays a pivotal role within the operations team, focusing on the management and oversight of marine engineering systems. This position is integral to ensuring the efficient operation of marine assets and reports to the Offshore Installation Manager or Marine Master, depending on the operational status.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Senior Marine Engineering Officer, your responsibilities will include:

1. **Maintenance and Operation:**
- Overseeing the Engine Room operations, ensuring all marine diesel engines, boilers, and auxiliary machinery are functioning optimally.
- Managing the cargo and ballast systems, along with the overall integrity of the vessel's hull and accommodations.

2. **Compliance and Safety:**
- Ensuring that all machinery and equipment adhere to safety and operational standards, complying with regulatory requirements.
- Conducting planned and unplanned maintenance on marine machinery to uphold safety and operational excellence.

3. **Team Leadership:**
- Supervising engineering staff to promote operational excellence and adherence to the Operations Management System.
- Fostering a safe working environment for all personnel in the engine room, addressing their needs and concerns effectively.

4. **Technical Oversight:**
- Inspecting and maintaining critical marine machinery and systems, ensuring accurate record-keeping and inventory management.
- Managing the operation of all auxiliary systems, including boilers, pumps, and safety systems, ensuring they meet operational standards.

5. **Documentation and Reporting:**
- Maintaining comprehensive logs of all operations, maintenance activities, and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Preparing reports and documentation related to maintenance routines and operational performance.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

- A valid legal authorization to work in the relevant jurisdiction.
- A minimum of 24 months of sea service in a similar rank.
- Extensive experience in marine operations, particularly in offshore environments.
- Proven leadership capabilities and strong communication skills.
- Relevant certifications in marine engineering and safety management.
