Marine Project Engineer Overview
We are looking for a skilled Marine Project Engineer to take on the responsibility of managing and supervising a variety of marine engineering projects.
The Marine Project Engineer will ensure that all projects adhere to technical specifications, budgetary limits, and timelines.
This position demands a robust background in marine engineering, exceptional project management capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities of the Marine Project Engineer
- Strategically plan, coordinate, and oversee marine engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with client specifications, budget, and scheduling constraints.
- Perform comprehensive design and analysis of marine structures and systems, including hull design, stability assessments, and structural integrity evaluations.
- Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documentation.
- Guarantee that all projects meet applicable industry standards, regulations, and classification society requirements (e.g., ABS, DNV, USCG).
- Collaborate with clients to grasp project requirements, offer technical insights, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work in close partnership with engineering, design, and production teams to facilitate smooth project execution and address any technical challenges that may arise.
- Keep abreast of the latest advancements in marine engineering and integrate innovative solutions to improve project results.
Qualifications for the Marine Project Engineer Position
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Naval Architecture & Maritime Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Over 10 years of experience in Naval Architecture and Design.
- At least 5 years of experience in marine project engineering, with a strong emphasis on vessel design and construction.
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, ANSYS, Rhino) and a solid grasp of marine engineering principles and practices.
Certifications:
- A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is preferred.
