Technical Engineering Specialist

UDR Consulting Inc is looking for a qualified candidate for the Engineering Technical Specialist role to provide support for various engineering initiatives.
Work LocationThe primary work will be conducted at designated client offices as required.
Key ResponsibilitiesThis role encompasses a variety of duties, including:
- Offering programmatic insights and contributions to engineering performance metrics and reporting.
- Acting as the engineering representative for the Client Action Request screening committee.
- Overseeing the Engineering procedures program, ensuring proper distribution and review of engineering documents across the organization.
- Serving as the document owner and author for selected engineering protocols.
- Assisting procedure owners in managing requirements effectively.
- Functioning as the Causal Analysis System Manager within the engineering team.
- Coordinating with the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB) to manage communications with stakeholders.
- Administering the engineering assessment program, ensuring timely scheduling and completion of assessments.
- Supporting the execution of Engineering assessments.
- Acting as a backup Engineering member for the Collective Significance Review process.
- Providing analytical support to align engineering department requirements with management directives.
- Managing the implementation of the Configuration Management Plan.
- Leading or assisting in process improvement initiatives related to engineering configuration control.
- Completing special assignments as directed by the Engineering Programs Manager or Chief Engineer.
- A Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is mandatory.
- A minimum of 12 years of engineering experience is required.
- At least five years of experience with engineering processes and procedures, preferably in a nuclear context.
- Experience with engineering assessments and corrective action programs is essential.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with executive-level and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with IBM Rational DOORS Next Generation (DNG) requirement management software is necessary.
- Knowledge of Smart Plant Foundation (SPF) software and engineering processes used by DOE contractors is preferred.
- Experience in Operations roles (e.g., OE, Shift Manager, Ops Manager) is advantageous.
- Understanding of ASME NQA-1 and other relevant codes regarding engineering change control is required.
Specific security clearances are required for access to designated areas.
Work ScheduleThe standard work schedule consists of ten-hour shifts during weekdays, with specific guidelines for non-standard workdays.
