Position: Application Engineer - Medium Voltage Power Transformer

As an Application Engineer specializing in Medium Voltage Power Transformers, you will provide essential technical assistance to the sales team, customer service, and directly to end-users regarding the application of medium voltage (MV) power and distribution transformers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver application support for MV Transformers and MV/LV power systems to both customers and internal teams, including R&D, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Service.
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing and Engineering to create and implement product documentation, such as data sheets, instruction manuals, catalogs, and online configuration tools.
  • Work closely with the R&D team to aid in the development of new products by conducting market analysis and leveraging your expertise in MV power systems.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and materials emerging in the MV Transformer market.
  • Utilize software tools to design and evaluate product integrity, features, and performance.
  • Take ownership of problem analysis and resolution for technical issues related to assigned products.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME or MSME) or a related field; a Master's in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is preferred.
  • Over 5 years of experience with MV electrical equipment, including Power Transformers, Distribution Transformers, Switchgear, and/or MV Breakers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant codes and standards in the USA, such as NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and associated UL and ANSI/IEEE product standards.
  • Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing processes and metal processing techniques, with the ability to independently resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
  • Proficient in preparing single-line diagrams, schematic diagrams, and mechanical drawings to effectively communicate product applications and engineering specifications.
  • Skilled in using MS Office tools, Pro/E, Solidworks, Autodesk, CAD, and other relevant software.
  • Strong team player with the ability to adapt to a multicultural work environment and a commitment to delivering results.
  • Innovative thinker with a proactive mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English, both written and spoken.
