Key Responsibilities- Screen and process new admissions
- Take head counts during hourly runs and document client movement in the communication log
- Screen clients' personal belongings upon entry to the facility and monitor client movement in and out of the facility
- Maintain accurate daily census and report infractions and incidents to appropriate staff
- Conduct client orientation sessions, seminars, and morning meetings as directed
- Transport or assist clients traveling to and from medical and/or other appointments
- Conduct and document room searches and perform random searches of clients as directed by program supervisor
- Deny access to unauthorized persons and supervise clients taking their medications
- Perform regular room checks to ensure clients are on floors or in their rooms per program schedule
- Follow protocol for reporting unauthorized absences and monitor urinalysis/drug screening and breathalyzers as instructed by supervisor on duty
- Monitor daily program activities, including meals and medication line, and tour the facility at regular intervals to check building security and ensure there are no fire or safety hazards
- Conduct fire drills and safety checks, including safety and security of the facility, checking fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and Narcan availability
- Ensure vehicles are kept clean and complete weekly vehicle inspections, and ensure facility cleanliness and safety through regular inspection of sanitation procedures
- Complete written reports, documentation, and electronic incident reports as required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to interact effectively with clients and aid them in adjusting to their specific problems
- Basic knowledge of substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
- Ability to establish and maintain working relations with staff, other agencies, and the public
- Ability to successfully work with others from various cultures and backgrounds
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred
- Ability to work various shifts and basic computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Outlook for email, as well as Word and Excel
